SUDH demonstration project (under preparation)
Technology requirements and design principles
State-of-the-art technology
Technology and design principles applied in DemoUkrainaDH projects have been proved to be sound, after being applied for decades in the Nordic countries. This state-of-the-art technology has been tested over time in the harsh operational conditions in Northern Europe, and has led to improved energy efficiency, lower operational costs and high-quality district heating services.
What applying for DemoUkrainaDH means
District heating companies willing to develop a demonstration project and to apply for funding in the framework of DemoUkrainaDH must be responsive to the idea that implementing state-of-the-art technology often means divergence with current practices and design principles used in Ukraine. This requires the efforts of all stakeholders involved, but the current projects under realisation demonstrate that complying with the requirements is possible. Thus, demonstration projects contribute not only to modern, energy efficient district heating systems, but also to the process of updating and modernisation of the hitherto used standards and norms.
Technology Statement
For the most common modernisation measures in district heating, the guiding technology and design principles have been presented in a Technology Statement. These principles are applied when selecting the demonstration projects, as well as during design and preparation of the technical specifications, the procurement process and project implementation.
The Technology Statement is available for download at the bottom of the page.
