DemoUkrainaDH

DemoUkrainaDH was established by NEFCO and Sweden in cooperation with the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Municipal Economy of Ukraine. DemoUkrainaDH is supported by Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) Fund.

To be eligible for funding, the demonstration projects must comply with certain eligibility and project criteria. As of 2019, the programme is no longer inviting applications for new projects.

Project partners are offered the opportunity to become acquainted with the state-of-the-art technology and design principles, based on proven solutions, already applied in the Nordic countries for more than 25 years. The application of this technology and design principles contribute to substantially lower investment and operation costs.

DemoUkrainaDH provides, per demonstration project, NEFCO funding up to EUR 500,000; grant funding provided by Sweden up to 50% of the total external funding, but not exceeding EUR 300,000; and relevant technical assistance. The project partner co-finances at least 15% of the project costs.

Projects under the DemoUkrainaDH programme are either completed or under implementation. The programme is no longer inviting project applications. Municipal district heating companies interested in financing their projects and eligible for participation, should consider the Sweden-Ukraine District Heating Programme.
